Lets go for Ecofriendly green Ganesha

Aug 15, 2016

Steps are being taken to ensure a 'green' Ganeshotsav' this year. This year's festivities have been planned from August 29 to September 7, and the making of the Ganesh idols is underway.
"Once immersed, the idols should dissolve in the water and not cause environmental problems. So we are using eco-friendly products to make the idols,"
Chalk powder and coconut fibre should be used to cast the idols in special moulds. Organic colours should be used to paint them.
Every year, the procession of the idols starts moves to for immersion.
This year the procession will be held on September 7. Ganesh idols of varying sizes - three feet to 30 feet - will be on display for this year's festivities.
